The secret behind the performance of a HYRAX.
How can a HYRAX do what actually can’t be done? How is the HYRAX small enough to fit on a trailer and yet still outmaneuver comparable machines on the job site? That is the sum of many innovations, discoveries and choices. Just to explain a few:
Control panel
Spreading undercarriage
Load carriers on the basket
The smart jib
Toothed idler wheels
Movable counterweight

A HYRAX is particularly easy and quick to operate. This will save you a lot of time on a working day. It is the sum of many small handinesses which are very dear to the users. A HYRAX is simply put to your hand. Without any complicated hassle.
Spreading undercarriage
By not using the conventional tube system but a clever spreading undercarriage, the HYRAX can fold itself into a remarkably narrow position, to a width of 5.7 ft. Because of the folding parts, the machine makes a vertical movement at the same time. The advantage? The HYRAX is also 4.7 inches lower when folded. That makes it considerably more stable on a trailer.
Load carriers on the basket
Although the HYRAX is not a crane, with the help of foldable load carriers on either side of the basket access you can carry up to 154 lbs of materials. When folded up, the load carriers act as a buffer to prevent damage to the work basket.
The smart jib
The front section of the mast – the moveable jib – with its integrated chain system keeps the work basket within a safe level. It has a large vertical jib travel of 180º that can be raised high while working or folded away very compactly on a small trailer.
Toothed idler wheels
Will you be driving your HYRAX over rough terrain? Do you have to fold and unfold the chassis often? To ensure that the tracks on your HYRAX stay in place, we have applied a special toothed idler for rough terrain conditions.
Movable counterweight
One of the discoveries made in order to realize compactness without sacrificing performance, was the need to incorporate most of the drive components in a movable counterweight. While working with the HYRAX, this section acts as a counterweight providing stability and ensuring a respectable load chart. During transport, the retracted counterweight makes the HYRAX particularly small. An added advantage is that the extendable part ensures maximum accessibility for service technicians.
